Canada Day Recipes to Cool You Off!

Happy Canada Day Weekend friends!
We are heading to the lake to enjoy some fun swimming, boating and playing on the beach! I thought it would be a great time to share a couple recipes that make a great snack and will cool you off if in the sun! These are kid-friendly and toddler approved, but I also LOVE them as well.
The first is a Popsicle recipe and I can't take credit for it as I saw it on Fraîche Nutrition's Instagram and just had to try them! It's only 2 ingredients so super simple and my 3 year old son, Riley, helped me make them! We bought this Popsicle mold at Ikea this past week and it works great! (Also was only a few dollars so you really can't go wrong!) We squeezed fresh oranges (you can also just use orange juice) and layered some Greek yogurt and voila! Literally tastes like a creamiscle! Our favourite yoghurt is Greek Goddess from Costco and it made for a nice rich taste. The kids keep asking for them so these will be on repeat all summer!

Orange Creamsicle Popsicles
(Makes 6 popsicles)
Ingredients:
2 oranges
Greek Yoghurt
Directions:
Squeeze orange juice into a bowl and then layer juice, then yoghurt and keep alternating until Popsicle mold is full. Freeze and enjoy!
The next recipe is a smoothie recipe that I've been having almost everyday! It's a great smoothie to have in the morning or post workout as it has some protein and fibre. It contains peanut butter, oats, which help boost your energy and make you feel full longer, and dates! The dates make it a bit sweeter which I personally love, but you can omit them if you want to taste more of the nut flavour.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
(Makes 1 smoothie)
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
3/4 cup coconut milk (or almond milk)
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp peanut butter (or almond butter)
2-3 dates
4-6 ice cubes
Directions:
Blend all ingredients together.
I hope you all have a great long weekend!
Love,
Lindsay
