Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, and it really sets the tone for how the day can go! I've found if I don't have a good breakfast I will feel less energetic and constantly hungry. The same goes for my kids, although they seem to be hungry every 10 minutes anyways ha! These are some simple breakfast (and brunch/lunch!) ideas that we all love and aren't too time consuming. When you have two hangry toddlers in the morning you need to get breakfast prepared quickly!

1. This granola recipe disappears SO fast in our house! The kids love to eat it as a snack on its own, with yoghurt or milk topped with berries, or just mixed with fresh fruit! The recipe is from the Oh She Glows cookbook called the "ultimate nutty granola clusters" and is so tasty! I usually double the recipe and freeze half so that it lasts longer. I love switching up the dried fruit in the recipe such as dried cranberries, dates, apricots, cherries and blueberries.

2. Smoothies! These are so simple to make and you can hide a lot of nutritious things in them for the kids. The colour green doesn't scare them so it's easy to pack spinach, kale, celery, broccoli and other green veggies that they won't eat on their own into a smoothie! This is one we have been loving lately:

Mango Spinach Smoothie

(2-3 servings)

1 Mango

1 1/2 cups spinach

1 cup orange juice, coconut water or water

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 frozen banana

3. Eggs - Ok so I lied- eggs are the one thing I don't like! I know it's weird right? They look so good to me but every time I try them my taste buds scream NO! Haha! I'm so thankful the kids love eggs because they are quick and easy! Scrambled, boiled, fried, or as an omelette they will eat them any which way!

What breakfast recipes do you and your kids enjoy?

Love,

Lindsay
