It's true - in case you haven't heard the news! We are expecting another (final) addition to the family end of November! This came a sweet surprise to us, and honestly I couldn't even tell Scott at first. I took a test everyday for a week before actually believing it! I told Scott by giving him a gift bag with a couple tests in it along with a card that said "save the date: end of November". Well, if you know my husband you'll know he loves Nascar and he assumed that the save the date was for a Nascar race in November for his 30th birthday gift. (face palm) I then told him to open the bag and he was so surprised! I told him he can drive fast on the way to the hospital sort of like nascar? haha! He was so excited and could not believe I didn't tell him right away (as I had always done before). It took awhile to soak in that this is happening and we are going to be a family of 6!

We told our families around Easter and gave them an easter egg with chocolate eggs and a note that said "we're eggspecting!" in it! Needless to say they were also surprised and excited!

The first trimester I didn't feel sick until 8 weeks, and then the nausea hit! Mornings were great, but it was the afternoons and evenings where the nausea was overwhelming. Thankfully, it has only lasted until 15 weeks and I am feeling SO much better!

Exercise

So far throughout this pregnancy I have been able to keep exercising and running about 3-4 times a week. I had a lot of people ask how I could exercise while feeling so nauseous, but for whatever reason, it was while I was exercising that I had no nausea! I was so exhausted during the first trimester, and that would sometimes keep me from exercising and I would often go to bed shortly after the kids went to bed. I did find exercise to give me a boost of energy and that was very helpful in getting through the day! I have been really enjoying Orange Theory Fitness and it is nice to get out of the house to go workout! On days where I'm home with the kids we will go for walks, runs in the evening, or do a Fit Girl Gang workout. When I was pregnant with Hallie, I had SPD (symphysis pubis disorder) and this kept me from exercising for a couple months because it was so painful. I'm hoping this doesn't happen again!

Gender

We are going to find out the gender of this baby! We found out with Brynn which was fun, but I also loved the surprise of not knowing with Riley and Hallie! This time, it just feels right to us to find out and it will be exciting to tell the kids if they will have a brother or sister. Riley is wanting a boy and Brynn wants another sister. Hallie has no clue what's going to happen haha! If you have any great gender reveal ideas let me know!

Diet

I'm always curious what people crave in pregnancy! This time is has definitely been an abundance of spicy food, jalapenos, and carbs in the first trimester. Also, if you have never tried Bubly sparkling water this may become your new favourite drink! I cannot get enough of it! Of course, the States has the best flavours - raspberry, blackberrry, mango and cranberry. Also, the grapefruit flavour kept me going in the first trimester lol! I've also chewed an insane amount of mint gum - everytime I had a wave of nausea I would pop a piece of gum and that would help for awhile.

We are so grateful for this little one, and know that it can be a long road to pregnancy, or having a child through adoption. It can be such a difficult road, but God is there with you, holding you. Praying for all of those whose hope is to be a mom!

xo,

Lindsay
