Our little Hallie Mabel is 10 months old and is such a sweetie. This past month we took a trip to Aruba with our family and she travelled like a dream! (I am working on another post about travelling with the kids/baby) I was a bit worried how she would sleep in a new place, but she had no problems and actually began sleeping through the night again which was amazing!
This past month she had a growth spurt and is now into size 12 month clothing! I always get a bit choked up packing away the clothes she's outgrown. She is filling out her snowsuit but we are trying to keep her in it because Spring is just around the corner!

Food
Hallie stopped eating pureed food about 3 weeks ago. She loves to grab her own food and feed herself. This is probably the only time in her life when eating with her hands is "appropriate" so why not let he get super messy! haha! For breakfast she always has a banana and either oatmeal, smoothie, eggs and sausage. At lunch and supper she will eat whatever we are eating. Some of her favourites include chicken, grapes, cheese, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, cooked veggies, berries and ground beef. She has quite the appetite and I always make sure to have some snacks on hand wherever we go!
She stopped nursing at 8 months which was a little bittersweet, but now we both love the freedom haha! She was biting and her arms were always grabbing so we transitioned her to a bottle. I would try to breastfeed once a day but she had no interest so we stopped altogether.
Sleep
As I mentioned before she has started sleeping through the night again after a month and a half of waking up once a night. She uses a sleep sack (which keeps her warm in these colder months!), soother, a noise machine and her bunny blankie. She is napping twice a day, a shorter one in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon. She has always slept the best in her crib, but she will fall asleep if we are on the go for a short time. As soon as we arrive at our destination her eyes pop open and she is ready to go. I thought I'd break down her daily routine at 10 months. I've always found setting up a loose schedule so helpful for babies to know what to expect, and it becomes easier to plan when to go out and when to be back for naptime, mealtime, etc.
Routine:
6:45 - wake up
7:30 - breakfast, playtime
9:00 - nap (on Brynn's preschool days this turns in to a short car nap. Thankfully this girl is flexible and isn't fussy if her nap is cut short!)
10:30 - bottle/playtime
11:30/12 - lunch
12:30ish - nap
3:30 - snack/play
5:30 - supper time
6:30 - bath time/bedtime routine
7:00 - bedtime
Playtime
Hallie is really into playing with things that AREN'T toys ha! She loves containers and the dishwasher as most kids this age do! She will find any sort of crumb on the floor and it occupies her for awhile. (also makes me want to clean my floors ALL THE TIME!) She stands and walks along furniture, and has recently found stairs - looks like the baby gates will have to be put up asap! When Riley and Brynn are around she will follow them and they love to give her attention. They bring her toys, play peek-a-boo and make her laugh! It's the cutest thing to watch them interact together.
While we were away, Hallie was able to go in the pool and ocean. She looooves water and is constantly kicking her little legs while splashing up a storm. She tries to lap up the water like a dog which is hilarious to watch and she had a little shock when it was salt water! On the beach she would sit in the sand with her toes in the water and pick up seashells around her. She didn't crawl on the sand so it was easy to keep her in one place and not worry about her crawling into the water.
This past month she really clung to me and if she noticed I wasn't in the room she would start to cry. She can be easily distracted which is nice, but if she sees me, she will crawl super fast to catch me!
We are so blessed to watch this girl grow and learn and explore the world around her! Love you sweet girl!
