Hallie is 5 months old now and I think this past month we have seen the most changes in her so far! It is so fun to see her interact with Riley and Brynn, watching them, babbling a ton and letting out sweet little giggles! The giggles are coming more each day, especially when you tickle her tummy.

She rarely stays on her playmat anymore as she is constantly rolling around when you lay her down. It’s so cute to see her roll back and forth and she makes her way across the floor usually accompanied by a lot of drool haha! It's so cute watching her grasp for her feet and then proceed to roll over. She also likes going in her exersaucer, and reaches for toys now. Her eyes are always focused on watching Riley and Brynn play. They just love her and are always kissing her. She does spit up quite a bit, especially when she's on her tummy and I always hear Riley or Brynn shouting out "she's puking again mom!"

Feeding

She is still breastfeeding and usually feeds every 2-2.5 hours. I can't believe we are almost at the stage for her to start trying some food! It feels like I just had her, but all of a sudden she is nearing half a year old!! She nurses fairly quickly and does not like a cover. I have just got used to not using one and it's so much easier than trying to fight with a nursing cover and have her swatting and kicking it away haha! I'm curious if you use(d) a cover or how you felt breastfeeding when out in public?!

Sleep

Hallie has been a very chill baby. She still loves her sleep (Iike her mom ;) ) and is ready for a nap every 1-1.5 hours after she's been awake. She's been the easiest to put to sleep even when out and about, it just takes swaddling and her soother and she's out in a few minutes! At night, we have established a good bedtime routine consisting of bath, book (usually read with the other kids) and then in her sleep sack and soother and she's out for the night. The kids say goodnight to her a million times while kissing her entire face. Pretty sure this girl will have no personal space for the foreseeable future ha!

Dislikes

She does not like her carseat still! The kids are so helpful putting in her soother, but often she just gets sick of being in her carseat and will cry the most heartbreaking cry. This makes driving sometimes stressful as nothing seems to help her. It is very rare that she will fall asleep in her carseat as well so I can't really plan on her having a nap in the carseat. Anyone else have a baby that didn't love the carseat/car rides?

As I mentioned before she prefers that I don't use a cover when feeding her, and honestly she eats so quick and is pretty discreet without a cover so it has worked out well.

Brynn smothers Hallie with love and affection, and wants to hold and carry her. I will catch her trying to get her out of her exersaucer, or pick her up in the most awkward positions. Hallie doesn't love this, but tolerates it haha! I hope these two will be best friends!

This girl is trying to move and I'm like slow down!!! She literally holds a plank and puts her bum in the air trying to move forward. It looks hilarious!

I just want to take mental snapshots of each face she makes, each smile, the little dimple on her cheek, her babbles and coo's and how she stares at me with her big blue eyes.

I remember with my first baby getting told, the days are long but the years are short. Well, tomorrow my oldest is off to Kindergarten and that saying couldn't be more true - the years have flown by! Soaking in all the moments with these littles while they are still home! It's truly a blessing to be their mom and I couldn't be more thankful that God has given me them.

Thanks for sticking with me (as I got a little emotional ha!)!

Hope you are all having a great start to your week!

xo,

Lindsay
