I have a two month old and it's hard to believe those first months are done! Sometimes I find all the change overwhelming, like I just want to freeze time and have her stay little forever! She has changed SO much this past month and lost most of her newborn "look". Her eyes are a deeper blue now, no surprise there as we all have blue eyes ha! Her hair has lightened a bit, but is still the darkest out of all 3 kids and I love it! She had a growth spurt at 6 weeks and is in 3 month clothes now!

Routine

Right now she is feeding every 2.5-3 hours during the day. She has been awake a lot more now during the day and will stay awake for about an hour before having a nap. I don't know if it's just the third child or what, but her cues for feeding and sleepiness are so clear. After she's been awake for awhile she will start fussing. Once she is swaddled and has her soother she pretty much falls asleep! Of course there have been some days where she has cried more, or wants to be snuggled more (which who doesn't love a good baby snuggle?!) but overall she's had a good routine this month! At night she goes to bed between 8-8:30pm and will sleep until 2-2:30. Then goes back and sleeps until 7:30ish.

Firsts

She is now sleeping in her crib and has been for the last week and a half! Once we got past the 6 week mark, the night time feeds became less and it just felt like a natural transition to put her in her crib. She has been doing great in there at night and I have been putting her down for some naps there as well. Sometimes she will nap long, and other times they are shorter. She takes a lot of naps on the go in her carseat/stroller, carrier, or in the car - thankfully she's pretty chill and flexible with this!

She had her first bout if sickness this past month and was so stuffed up. She would only sleep on me and it was so sad to see her sick. She did have the cutest little sneezes and Brynn would say "Bwess You" to her all the time! haha!

She has been smiling now and it is just the sweetest, most adorable thing! She will catch your eye, and loves to hear you talk or sing to her. Her eyes light up, and then she bursts into a big grin! We just can't get enough of this.

Life with 3

A lot of people have asked what it's been like with 3 kids. I definitely feel as though I don't get as many snuggles with Hallie during the day, so after the kids go to bed I have a good cuddle session before she goes to sleep. It is definitely busier and I sometimes with I could grow another set of hands ha! But overall things are going great! Riley is still a huge help and he has asked to carry her around (with supervision don't worry!). He will rock her and sing songs from church and preschool to her and it melts my heart. He does this especially when we are driving and if she starts to cry. Brynn also carries her around when I'm not looking or in the other room, so we have to watch and teach her, because she really just wants to love on Hallie and be a good big sister. It's really sweet to watch her run up to Hallie when she's crying and say "it's okay callie, I got you" and pop her soother in. Yep, she still calls her callie haha! This is the name of my parents dog so it's funny to hear her say it.

Newborn Products We Love

I thought I'd include some newborn things we have loved and some we've used with the other kids, and some are brand new to us! There are SO many products, brands, types, the list can go on and on and be overwhelming which is how I felt! I loved getting recommendations from other moms, and I've learned a few things along the way of what is great for our lifestyle, seasons, and what hasn't worked for us. That is not to say it won't work for anyone, because it totally can! I'll link the products (they'll be underlined) so you can check them out!

This bassinet we loved! It collapses really compact and we bring it to the cabin with us!

These swaddle blankets we've used for all 3 kids and they are get softer with each wash, are nice and large and breathable. (great for the summer!)

Our sweet girl loves to get her hands by her face and this can startle her and wake her up, so we used this swaddle at night and it's been great. It's now getting small so we have been switching to one a friend lent me. It's called the miracle blanket and I've loved it!

One product that I like, but left me a little disappointed with the quality was the Milk Snob cover - I love that it has so many ways to use it, and that it stays put over the carseat, whereas other kinds will fly up if it's windy out. But, the fabric got little holes in it and it's just not the most long-lasting material. Anyone else have this issue?

Have a great weekend everyone!

xo,

Lindsay
