Hey friends!

So this past May we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to go away somewhere and have some time away from the kids. I think it's really important to have that one on one time with your significant other because kids can be a huge distraction day-to-day and the busyness of life can take over leaving you drained and not giving your "best time" to your spouse.

The opportunity came to go with Scott's cousin and her husband to Minneapolis and we jumped on it! It was fun to drive down together and have some adult conversations! (Nothing wrong with kid conversations but it's a nice change haha!)

We stopped at the outlet mall on the way down and we actually had really good self-control and didn't make many purchases!

We stayed at a hotel downtown, the Westin, (warning if you stay downtown be prepared to spend more on parking) which was so nice and central to a lot of restaurants in walking distance! It was also close to the metro station which we used a few times. We found some great restaurants and a roof top pub that was fun to hang out on!

Of course we checked out mall of America and did a bit of shopping! It was nice and leisurely, unlike my shopping trips with the kids nowadays haha. On the Saturday evening we took the metro to the new stadium to see Coldplay!!!! I saw them once before in Winnipeg and they totally blew my mind so I knew their show was going to be amazing once again!

The next day we slept in (another big perk!) and found a cute brunch spot. We then drove to Valley Fair and enjoyed the rides! We realized our stomachs are not like they once were and we came off a few rides looking a little green hah! That evening we found an amazing coal fire pizza place called Black Sheep where we devoured probably the best pizza I've ever had. The next morning we found a cute smoothie place and went to Target, along with a couple other stores before heading home!

It was the perfect length of trip - 4 days in total. I was missing the kiddos and ready to hug and kiss them!
