Hey friends!
Anyone else loving this warmer weather and soaking up all the sunshine?! My kids are so much happier when we are outside - all of our problems seem to disappear (well almost, until they begin arguing over toys and R pushing B down the slide too fast ha!). A couple weeks ago we (by we I mean my husband, his dad and my brother - I took the role of supervisor of the little helpers) set up a play structure in the backyard. The kids have so much fun on it! Riley is totally fine on his own, but Brynn I still have to keep a close eye on. She is fine climbing up the ladder and going down the slides, but she thinks she can just jump off the open side and doesn't quite realize she's incapable of flying. haha!
As this weather gets warmer and we spend more time in the beautiful sunshine, this can bring on the sunburns, insect and mosquito bites for the kids, and freckles and wrinkles for me! (also the wood ticks are crazy this year!) I thought I'd share some of the products that we've tried and tested for our kids! If you have any other products that you love please share them! I love trying and testing new products out - it's like a game where I try to find an even better product ha! Some things I look for are the ingredients, if it's a natural product, safe for kids, good for sensitive skin and easy to apply, oh and smells nice!
Sunscreen
Badger makes a great natural sunscreen that protects against UVA/UVB rays and is water resistant for 40 minutes. It is a bit thicker so a little goes a long way, and it's very hydrating. Other sunscreens I've tried have left me feeling like a lizard and zapped of moisture, so I knew that by testing this on myself first was the way to go, and I was so impressed! We've used the Chamomile spf 30 and I love the scent! It's certified natural and organic and has a top rating by the Environmental Working Group (something I didn't know before!). They also make a sunscreen face stick (I haven't tried yet!) and have a few more scented/unscented natural sunscreen options.

Bug Spray
Tiber River Naturals has an awesome bug spray called Summertime Spray. It's good for babies 6 months and older and we use it on ourselves as well! It's made locally here in Manitoba (the mosquito capital ha!) which is another bonus! This is a bit stronger smelling because of all of the essential oils used in it, but I don't mind the smell at all!

Bathtime
For bath time we have tried a bunch of body washes and the favourites are: Tiber Baby Bottoms Up, Honest Company Shampoo + Body Wash, and Burt's Bees Baby Bee Shampoo + Wash. There are so many other ones out there but so far these are the ones we've tried and really liked! They are gentle, non-tearing (a big thing with kids!), natural, and 2-in-1 products! (shampoo + wash)
Every kid loves a good bubble bath, the more bubbles the better am I right?! haha! We found a Green Beaver Jr. bubble bath (a Canadian made product!) and it's fantastic! It's natural and contains no artificial fragrance or dyes. This company has a wide range of products I'd recommend checking out!

Lotion
We've tried a few lotions but always end up going back to coconut oil. It honestly is so moisturizing and easy to apply. It's a natural antibacterial, great for sensitive and dehydrated skin (also bum rashes!). You can get it at any store but be sure to look for organic, pure coconut oil. We just get ours at Costco in a huge tub and then I put it into little jars to use as lotion.
Those are a few of our favourite products! I'd love to hear what products you love to use on your kids!

Love,
Lindsay
